Thank you, Kersten. I admit that I will be flying by the seat of my pants here, but I am also sure that others will be able to make suggestions on how to proceed and will be actively pursuing the same goals that will assure success. Keep this in y...

The reference to America as the Great Satan is often misunderstood by our people. The term Satan means literally "destroyer" and one could argue that America has not always caused the most righteous outcomes in the countries in which it has meddle...

All About Me

I am the father of five, grandfather of four (so far) and the husband of the world's most patient and loving woman (anyone else would have killed me in my sleep). I discovered a few years back that I am a writer and have been enjoying everything about it, but the poverty, ever since.

Currently I am, due to strong spiritual prompting, working on a series of fictional short stories (presently counting 35) about the 3 Nephites and the Apostle John. Hopefully it will be the foot in the door that will get my novel and two novellas published also. Time will tell. I want to collect real stories from those who think they may have actually had encounters with these or other angelic messengers. What an uplifting and faith-promoting work that would be. Privacy will be respected, of course.

My interests are wide and varied. I like science, art, music, religion, writing and so many other things that it is easier to mention what I am not interested in. Alternative energy research is a favorite niche.

My writing spans music and lyrics, fictional novels, novellas, non-fiction, vignettes, short stories, poetry, psalms, chiasms and eventually, maybe things I have yet to discover. Making new friends is enjoyable and so is discussing deep matters that I cannot usually find others interested in. I have a life-long interest in learning. Perhaps you will suggest new subjects for me to pursue.

Spotlight on "Forged in the Refiner's Fire" by Candace E. Salima

Why do bad things happen? Is there a purpose when we face a bad trial? As mortals, we can be compared to ore, such as gold and silver. Ore that is unrefined is generally impure and undesirable. Only ore that is crushed -- and then refined by fire -- becomes beautiful, pure, precious and valuable. This book was written to help you see the results of the Ultimate Refiner, the Lord, in your own life.

Within these pages, people from all walks of life share their stories of triumph over tragedy. More importantly, they reveal how they were strengthened as they passed through the Refiner's fire. They became more precious, and so can you. Look for the experiences of vocalist Merrill Osmond, LDS writers Shirley Bahlmann, Elizabeth Cheever, Willard Boyd Gardner, Tristi Pinkston, and Candace E. Salima, renowned columnist Muriel Sluyter and several people across the nation who are ranchers, housewives, writers in the national market and more.

Candace E. Salima partnered with Elizabeth Cheever to co-author this book. They feel very privileged to have been the ones to bring this story to the world.
