Hi, all. Glad to be here. Right out of the gate, I need your help with something. I am writing a series of short stories right now, regarding the 3 Nephites and the Apostle John--basically, what would it be like to have them come into your life even briefly. A good friend suggested I collect stories from people who REALLY think they may have had an encounter with one or more of these angelic messengers. The idea is wonderful, but I know these are sacred experiences and held close to the vest. Still, if it were possible that you might help, I promise that I will treat these events with the utmost respect and be true to the vent as it happened. I will protect the name and identity wherever desired, as well. I just think this could be a wonderfully uplifting and faith-promoting book. Thank you in advance for any help you might give in locating these stories and individuals. --Steve O'Dell

Laurie,

It really was so much fun. Hopefully we can all get together. But really, we don't have to wait for the once a year thing. Who's in Utah and Salt Lake counties and we can plan another dinner in the next few weeks. That could be fun, don't you think? That could supplement us throughout the year.

The dinner last night was so much fun! I really enjoyed myself. Alvin and I were so glad, despite our exceedingly busy schedules yesterday, that we took the time to join everyone for dinner.

Mary has posted the pictures from our dinner on her page, so be sure to drop by and check them out. Candids are so funny.

Don't forget our get-together dinner tonight. Many people have driven from far away places to meet at Macaroni Grill at Fashion Place Mall. 6:00 p.m. Be there . . . we want to see as many of you as we can.

Spotlight on "Forged in the Refiner's Fire" by Candace E. Salima

Why do bad things happen? Is there a purpose when we face a bad trial? As mortals, we can be compared to ore, such as gold and silver. Ore that is unrefined is generally impure and undesirable. Only ore that is crushed -- and then refined by fire -- becomes beautiful, pure, precious and valuable. This book was written to help you see the results of the Ultimate Refiner, the Lord, in your own life.

Within these pages, people from all walks of life share their stories of triumph over tragedy. More importantly, they reveal how they were strengthened as they passed through the Refiner's fire. They became more precious, and so can you. Look for the experiences of vocalist Merrill Osmond, LDS writers Shirley Bahlmann, Elizabeth Cheever, Willard Boyd Gardner, Tristi Pinkston, and Candace E. Salima, renowned columnist Muriel Sluyter and several people across the nation who are ranchers, housewives, writers in the national market and more.

Candace E. Salima partnered with Elizabeth Cheever to co-author this book. They feel very privileged to have been the ones to bring this story to the world.
